Orlando Bloom was born on Jan. 13th 1977 in Canterbury, England. At the age of sixteen he did spend two seasons at the National Youth Theater before he began his training at the British American Drama Akademy. After a few cameos on brit. TV he had his movie début as a rentboy in "Oscar Wilde", which was followed by an offer to continue his studies at London´s Guilhall School of Music and Drama where he graduated 3 years later. Shortly before graduation he auditioned for LOTR´s Faramir and was rejected... only to get the part of Legolas. Orlando appeared on stage f.e. in the following productions: Peer Gynt; What you want; Antigone; Twelfth Night; The Seagull; Trojan Women.

On February, 5th 2002, Orlando Bloom wins the Empire Award for "Best Male Début", and on June 1st 2002 the MTV-Award in the category "Best Breakthrough Male"..
